No Contract? No Work!

Some good discussion about the TWU transit strike in N.Y.C.

No Contract? No Work!

Transit is on strike, and things look crazy out there. I'm lucky enough to be able to work from home, so I did not have to brave the transportation nightmare. I'm worried about the hefty fines the union members are facing, but am impressed by their cojones, and their commitment to fight for respect and for their worker's rights.

This is too much work!

So posting ALL the pictures I have individually is a pain, but I will post some pics of my chula Ciuapilli who has gotten soo big!

So much for blogging!

So I have not used this thing at all, but Pancho has encouraged me to post the pics from my trip to Los Angeles the week of 4th of July. Hopefully, if I can figure this thing out, you will be able to see lovely pictures of O-Deuce & Co.

Hmmm...let the procrastination begin!

After much coaxing, I finally took a moment to look at Pancho's blog...and now here i am blogging myself. I should of course be grading that last stack of essays, or typing up the "do now" for tomorrow's classes, but that's what 4am is for these days. Besides, this is a lot more fun at least potentially.

It's funny I have stopped writing in my journal and this is probably the year i should have been writing the most - so here is to online journaling.

So on my mind these days is the big move. I'm heading back home to my NYC and I am thrilled/a little nervous. I'm going to finish up the year of teaching and them I'm off - first to LA on vaca then to face moving 7 years worht of stuff back to where it all started New York, New York.

-LA

P.S. Pancho, if you are out there reading I miss the echo of commons too - I also miss Doodle burgers, coconut ice cream at thai taste, wings and spades at TK's, and endless nights at La Casa with my extended family (preferably eating ;)
